If you saw yesterday's email, you know that this week we're hosting Traffic School here at Growth Tools.

It's a 4 part mini-course to help you build a Bulletproof Traffic Plan to scale your business.

You can click here to book a strategy call with one of our experts. On the call, they'll help you get your traffic plan in place, and build a clear roadmap for your business' growth.

That said, let's dive in…

Lesson 1: The Traffic "Problem"

Almost every business that scales eventually hits a wall.

Either,

  1. They were never quite profitable enough in the first place, or,
  2. They were profitable, but as they grow, find that getting to the next level is way harder and more expensive than they thought.

I've been there myself…(more times than I can count)

When it happens, it's tempting to think you have a traffic problem.

Your traffic — aka: marketing costs — becomes more expensive.

You move from being a big fish in a small pond, to a small fish in a bigger pond.

And guess what:

That bigger pond has bigger fish:

  • They swim faster,
  • They eat more, and
  • They may even hunt you down.

At this point, a lot of businesses throw up their hands. They think they can't grow because they can't afford to buy traffic at their new, higher-stakes level.

Some retreat back to the smaller pond and get by with a modest living…others become prey and die out trying to compete against the bigger fish.

But. I want to make something very, very clear.

There's no such thing as a traffic problem.

  • Maybe you have a lead conversion problem.
  • Maybe you have a sales problem.
  • Maybe you even have a customer retention problem.

But you do NOT have a traffic problem.

Here's why:

There is way more traffic out there than you could ever fulfill.

That means there are way more potential customers out there than you would know what to do with.

And, with all of the marketing channels available, there's no way you could fail to get traffic if you really tried.

So, when people say they have a "traffic problem," what they actually mean is that traffic is too expensive.

(Quick Note: You might say you don't have time, or you don't know how, but - let's face it - you could hire a marketing agency today if you wanted, so it really all boils down to money…)

Think about it: if you made 10x more per client than you do now, would you still have a traffic problem?

Probably not.

Chances are, you'd be able to afford to buy more traffic, all day long.

So, if it's not traffic:

What's the real problem?

Most businesses let their traffic slip through their fingers like water through a sieve.

  • They don't capture leads,
  • They don't engage their leads,
  • They don't have a clear sales system.

The list goes on and on.

Tomorrow, I'll dive into the first - and most fundamental - step you can take to solve the real traffic problem for your business.

For now, I just want you to reflect on the idea that you DO NOT HAVE a "traffic problem."

For most businesses, that's a 180 degree shift.

Talk soon,

Bryan
