Gut check:

How do you think the next month will go for your business?

I love asking this question because it reveals an uncomfortable truth: most online business owners have NO idea how to answer it. 

Some months are up. Some months are down. And while the reasons are sometimes obvious ("I launched my thing and it sucked"), the underlying causes are always fuzzy.

That's why I always ask a second question:

How many new email subscribers did you get last month?

This is one of the easiest ways to "temperature check" your business.

Are there other factors that can influence it? Of course.

But if you sell courses, coaching, or consulting, the trajectory of your business is typically attached at the hip to the number of fresh leads you're generating. It is the rising tide that lifts all ships. And when you realize that, you get massive clarity on where you need to focus your time and energy.

Instead of feeling stuck or overwhelmed with how to get more customers in the door, you can ask yourself a much simpler question:

"What could I do *this month* to double the number of email subscribers I got last month?"

I don't care what you sell, what the price is, or what your funnel looks like, your number of new monthly email subscribers has a multiplier effect on everything you do.

So this week, I'm going to help you raise it.

Every day, you're going to get an email that will help you spark ideas to quickly grow your list.

And if you got zero new email subscribers last month, don't worry. In that case, "doubling" your monthly subscribers might look like getting 100 instead of zero over the next month. :)

But before we get in the weeds, I want to get your creative juices flowing:

  1. Pull up your Notes app, a blank Google Doc, or a sheet of paper
  2. Set a timer for 5 minutes
  3. Write down every kernel of an idea you can think of for growing your email list

There is only one rule...

Raise your right hand and repeat after me: 

I solemnly swear I will not list "buy ads" as an idea.

If you think that's the only way to quickly add subscribers to your list, you are underrating your own creativity.
