Last week, I stumbled across a case study that still has me reeling.

If you sell high-ticket coaching services or courses, it is THE blueprint for sustainable growth.

It's a repeatable strategy that one of our clients used in December to bring in 102k in new client revenue from a single 1-hour virtual training session.

  • He didn't spend a dime on ads to promote it
  • None of the attendees came from his email list
  • No crazy funnels were involved

Let me break it down for you.

Who? Michael DeLon

His Business: Paperback Expert — Michael and his team help business owners establish and market their credibility by creating and publishing an Amazon bestselling book.

The challenge? Michael's #1 source of leads was getting a booth or speaking at in-person conferences.

So yeah...that went out the window when Covid hit back in March.

The solution: Michael joined our coaching program, Growth University, and we showed him how to generate sales by teaching 1 new online audience per week. 

  • First, we helped him identify companies and influencers full of his ideal customers.
  • Then, he simply asked if he could teach their audiences about publishing a book to establish their credibility.

The results? 

In December, he turned one 60-minute virtual training session into 102k in sales.

Here's the wild part—there were only 30 people in attendance!

Out of those 30 people…

  • 9 booked a phone call to learn about Michael's services
  • 5 of them purchased a package priced at just over 20k
  • For a total of 102k
  • All because of one virtual presentation to 30 people

How?

It all had to do with getting in front of the RIGHT audience.

See, everyone in attendance was a member of a mastermind group for tax specialists. 

They were the EXACT kind of professionals who are great fits for Michael's business (past clients have typically been attorneys, financial advisors, doctors, etc.). 

The leader of the mastermind group knew his members were interested in learning how to publish a book... 

But he didn't have expertise in that area.

So when Michael pitched him on doing a virtual training for the group, he jumped at the chance.

Remember this—getting in front of the right people always beats getting in front of the most people.

In fact, lining up more partnerships like this is the only growth strategy Michael and his team plan to focus on this year.

"That's all we're doing," he said. "We have found the secret recipe."
