There are only 3 ways to grow a business:

  1. Get more customers
  2. Increase order value
  3. Increase buying frequency

Move just one of those by 10% every 90 days and big things happen.

Wow, revolutionary advice, Bryan. :)

You might think it sounds obvious, but here's the deal...

If you calculated how much time the average online business owner thinks about those 3 growth methods, it would look like this:

Most people OBSESS over strategies for getting more customers, while totally discounting (or overlooking) anything in the other 2 buckets.

Even worse...if you tell someone they should do something like increase their pricing, they usually look at you like my buddy Sam Matla here:

That's Sam reenacting the face he made when I told him to increase the price of his online course, EDM Foundations.

For some reason, NOBODY believes they can pull off charging more for their products. Even if existing customers love them!

Sam, for example, was already doing $150k per year when I gave him that advice. Yet he was still hesitant.

What if people stop buying?

What if I get emails calling me mean names?

What if my course isn't valuable enough to charge more?

On that note, how did I know Sam needed to increase his pricing in the first place?

Simple — 75% of sales were coming from the most expensive course package he was offering (it was previously priced at $197).

My Golden Rule of Pricing: If more than 20% of your sales are coming from your highest-priced offering, it isn't priced high enough.

After some nudging, Sam implemented a tiered pricing structure that allowed him to charge significantly more. This is what it looked like at the time:

The high-level changes:

  • His original highest-priced offering became the lowest-priced offering

  • He created a mid-tier package that included the bonuses he was originally including @ the $197 price point

  • He created a high-tier package that included one Skype coaching session and 6 months of email coaching

That's it.

He didn't need to create any new content. Or a fancy new sales page. Or a complicated new funnel.

The results? Here's what Sam said:

"Over the next 12 months we actually almost doubled our revenue to $325k for that year. Most of it was directly because of that pricing increase, which was a very simple step, but we wouldn't have taken it if we didn't have this outside advice from a third party."

You can hear Sam give the detailed version right here.

But notice the end of his quote. The part where he says he wouldn't have done it without outside advice.

That's what's so freaking challenging about running a business.

It's so easy to miss growth opportunities that are staring you right in the face.

Or to convince yourself that something won't work for you.

A nudge in the right direction can be priceless.

Want to know what that nudge would look like for your business?

We just opened up 15 more free Strategy Session slots on our calendar.

Here's how they work:

By the way, this whole "tiered pricing" thing isn't unique to Sam's business.

Back when I sold an online course, I literally did the exact same thing with the pricing and brought in an extra $102,224 in a single launch.

First, I was offering this:

For the next launch, I switched it up to this:

And that meant sales did this:

Crazy!

Want to know if you've got an opportunity like this staring you in the face?

It might not look exactly the same as this.

It might not be as simple as snapping your fingers.

But whatever it is, we'll help you find it.
