thx

Appreciation is the currency we pay the universe with.

And I'm trying to settle that bill with the universe every single day. Every day I ask myself: What am I grateful for today? I ask my two sons the same question when I put them to bed.

It taught me quite a few surprising lessons. I talk about it in the latest episode of my podcast.

Since you're a subscriber of this newsletter, you're probably a very future-oriented person. You have goals and work towards attaining them. You make things happen, and then you move on to the next thing.

If that's the case—it's even more important to sometimes stop and look at the present. Take stock of all the things currently in your life you'd mourn if they'd be gone.

(Hint: It's impossible to complete this exercise, which is pretty humbling if you think about it. You could literally go on forever trying to list everything you'd miss if it would be taken away from you. You're reading this—so you have the skill to read. You have the devices you need to read this. You can access the internet. You have eyesight. Etc etc)

And yet, on most days, we invest so much of our energy focused on what's missing in our life, rather than what's present.

Check out episode 12 of my podcast where I share 2 exercises to help you practice gratitude more effectively.

Go get'em,
Steli

PS: I'll take this opportunity to thank YOU for giving me your time and attention. It's easy to look at numbers: So and so many hundreds of thousands of readers. So and so many tens of thousands of views and listens.

But with every piece of content I create, I always imagine one version of YOU; during a busy day, with so much happening, and so many other ways you could put your time to good use, and it's humbling.

I always strive to create something worth your time. If you can think of a way for me to do so even better, hit reply and let me know :)
