tldr: If you're currently applying for a job, you probably should give your CV a makeover. I recorded a short video for you to show you how to enhance your CV through storytelling.

Once you're on the receiving end of screening job applications, you realize: CVs suck. Almost nobody is good at writing CVs—even badass marketers and great sales people are surprisingly bad at it.

I'm pretty sure I missed out on hiring some amazing talent, just because the CVs they sent me unsold me on learning more about them:

A list of places they studied and worked at, that doesn't tell a story, doesn't convey a compelling message, doesn't give me any sense for why this person is the right fit for the role. So yes, thank you, but no.

In this video, I share why you need to make your CV tell a story, and how to do it well. Even if you're not currently looking for your next gig—there's valuable lessons in there on how to tell your life's story in a more effective way.

📊 2x your revenue in 2020

2019 was a great year for us at Growth Tools.

We doubled company revenue and 2.5x'd profit from 2018.

But as you can see in the chart… we had to take some time to rebuild.

Back in 2013-2016... business was good.

We were doubling revenue, hiring new team members, building new products.

But business was hectic. Myself and everyone on the team felt like we were running around with our heads cut off.

Always being reactive and trying to put out fires INSTEAD OF being proactive and preventing fires from starting in the first place.

I had to do some serious soul-searching and decided that I wanted (and needed) to build a sustainable business.

Both for the benefit of the business, but also for the sanity of everyone on the team.

It took some time (2ish years), but we have come out of the rebuild with a clear plan in place.
